TRY IT NOW
The 60-second mindful pause
Our name comes from the comma in We, mindful. A comma is a pause: the breath before you carry on. Here is one you can take right now.
- Stop. Put down what you are holding. Let your shoulders drop.
- Breathe in slowly through your nose for a count of four.
- Breathe out for a count of six. Let the out-breath be longer than the in-breath.
- Notice three things: something you can see, hear and feel.
- Carry on, choosing your next action rather than rushing into it.
